Javier A. Pineda D. is an associate professor at the Interdisciplinary Center for Development Studies - Cider, Universidad de los Andes, Colombia. Doctor from the Geography Department, University of Durham, UK, 2000. Senior researcher in Ministry of Science and member of the research group in Interdisciplinary Studies on Development. He is currently coordinator of the group on Gender and care in Clacso. He has recently published on gender, care work, and female empowerment.
